Lincoln Square, London
Located between The City and Covent Garden, Lincoln Square is a ten-storey residential development of apartments, studios and penthouses. Designed by PLP Architects, the scheme brings together contemporary architecture with high-end interior and amenity spaces, carefully considered to create a refined and cohesive living environment.
The entrance experience is defined by two double-height lobbies, where scale, light and materiality combine to create a strong first impression. Suspended within these spaces, bespoke chandeliers act as the focal point, drawing the eye upwards and emphasising the verticality of the architecture.
Banker Wire M22-83 mesh was specified within these custom installations, forming the outer structure of each chandelier. The woven mesh allows light to pass through while maintaining a clear and defined form, giving the feature both presence and transparency within the space.
Material and Finishes
Finished in a combination of stainless steel and bronze, the mesh complements the surrounding palette of finishes and furnishings. The warmer bronze tones introduce depth and softness, while the stainless steel adds a subtle reflectivity that enhances the overall lighting effect.
As well as a visual feature, the mesh performs a functional role within the lobby. Acting as a screen, it creates a level of privacy and separation without fully enclosing the space, allowing for openness while still defining areas within the interior.
The use of M22-83 continues throughout the building, including hallways, private suites and the library. This repeated application establishes a consistent material language, connecting each space and reinforcing the overall design intent.
The Finished Project
At Lincoln Square, M22-83 is used not only as a decorative feature, but as an integrated architectural element that enhances light, defines space and contributes to the overall atmosphere of the interiors.
Through its application across multiple areas, the mesh brings consistency and cohesion to the development, while elevating key feature spaces such as the entrance lobbies.
The result is a balanced approach, where material, function and design work together to deliver a refined and contemporary finish.
